Who is Quicksand?
Quicksand is a company founded specifically to continue the provision of moulds and cores in 3D printed sand to the Australian foundry industry. Prints are produced using our Voxeljet VX1000 3D sand printing machine.

Our 3D Sand Printing Story
Quicksand Pty Ltd was founded with a simple goal: to continue to provide Australian industry with a 3D sand printing capability after the Voxeljet VX1000 sand printer transitioned out of CSIRO and into industry.
Whilst at CSIRO, two companies Racecast Engineering and Hasco Foundry were the biggest users of the machine representing over 75% of the printer's workload.
These companies identified the enormous potential the technology had to offer the foundry industry and began to develop their businesses around the technology.
Shane Corish, director of Racecast Engineering developed performance automotive components that simply couldn't be produced without this technology.
Adam Hassell, director of Hasco Foundry used the technology to vastly improve the quality and throughput of complex impeller cores. Hasco also oversaw the rapid development of defence castings producing prototypes from moulds produced with the VX1000.
As the largest users of the technology, it made perfect sense for Racecast Engineering and Hasco Foundry to back a new company to continue provision of sand printing to the Australian foundry industry. With the backing of Racecast's development experience and Hasco's foundry experience we believe we can offer the best 3D sand printing service and expertise to the Australian foundry industry.
